Processing under explosion protection and nitrogen atmosphere is possible in addition to production under GMP conditions.
All production steps are managed in a specially developed, protected process control system, which is linked to our production facilities. PLC process control and monitoring enable us to manufacture a wide range of products, including those that are more complicated. We are able to maintain quality consistency even for complex product specifications. Contract manufacturing with Ursa-Chemie – this is how we work:
As soon as we receive your request, we check the feasibility according to your specifications and sign a non-disclosure agreement. You provide us with all product-specific data, such as the exact formula, manufacturing instructions, packaging and labelling information, safety data sheets, product specifications and required quantities – we start initial laboratory tests and develop the production process. All this usually takes no longer than 4 to 6 weeks and is free of charge to you. Once the production process has been developed, you will receive our offer. Following an initial test production, which will involve you if necessary, batch or campaign production begins. From this point on, you can order the manufacture of your product from Ursa-Chemie GmbH at any time.

Whether mixed, reaction or powder products – our universally equipped production facilities enable safe, high-quality contract manufacturing of chemical products for different needs and batch sizes. Processing under explosion protection and nitrogen atmosphere is possible in addition to production under GMP conditions. To ensure that the quality of our products is consistent, we use an individually adapted process control system.
Stainless steel vessel
Stainless steel vessels are used to make sophisticated mixed products. The mixing and reaction vessels have a capacity of 500 to 8,000 litres, so a variety of batch sizes can be realised. Various stirrers are available to enable the manufacture of products with a viscosity of up to 60,000 mPas.
Temperature-controlled vessels enable processing to take place at temperatures of up to 180 °C and under vacuum of max. 30 mbar. Special explosion protection devices enable approved processing of products under explosion protection (explosion protection zone 0). Production under a nitrogen atmosphere is also possible. Under these conditions, toxic, corrosive, inflammable and explosive or dust-explosive hazardous substances can also be processed and produced.
The GMP vessels are used for the production of sophisticated mixed products under GMP conditions (cosmetic GMP). Here, we manufacture products with high purity requirements. They include, for example, hygiene products or active ingredients for the cosmetics industry or agriculture, ecological preservatives and disinfectants.
The stainless steel stirrer tanks have a capacity of up to 10,000 litres. Various stirrers are available for manufacturing products with a viscosity of up to 30,000 mPas. Powerful dispersants and emulsifiers allow the production of stable oil-in-water emulsions. Low-viscosity products with high foaming capacity can be formulated foam-free in a special vessel with a jet stream mixer.
Solid materials plants
Our solids plants are used for the production of powder products. We cover the entire production chain from crystallisation, separation, drying, mixing and grinding. Processing under explosion protection (explosion protection zone 21) is also possible.
We use crystallisation vessels with a volume of up to 8,000 litres, an explosion-protected centrifuge for phase separation of the suspension and a vacuum mixing dryer for gentle drying of the filter cake. Different grinders are available for final processing of the powder.
Enamel kettles are used for special chemical reactions if stainless steel cannot be used. The vessels offer a capacity of up to 5,400 litres, which allows a wide range of batch sizes to be realised.
They are equipped with a two-stage multi-flex stirrer and dosing devices for liquids and solids. An in-process pH measurement can also be taken.
Temperature-controlled mixing vessels enable processing to take place at temperatures of up to 150 °C and under vacuum pressure of max. 30 mbar. The production plant is equipped with special explosion protection devices and is approved for processing products under explosion protection (explosion protection zone 1). This enables the processing of toxic, corrosive, inflammable and explosive or dust-explosive hazardous substances.
An electronic control and monitoring system enables us to carry out demanding chemical reactions safely and risk-free. We specialise particularly in the processing of chromic acid and epichlorohydrin in a closed system.

We have separate production areas – GMP production and technical production – for manufacturing sophisticated mixed products, reaction products and powder mixtures under both GMP conditions and explosion protection.
In the area of mixed products, we produce liquids such as solutions, emulsions, dispersions and suspensions as well as solids, for example, by separating and processing solids from suspensions, by drying moist solids or by decanting. A wide range of products can be processed thanks to temperature-controlled mixing vessels made of various materials, including stainless steel, enamel and plastic, as well as various types of stirrer and an inline disperser with powder suction. An inline pH measurement can also be taken and mirrored dosing can be implemented.
With reaction products, reactions are possible under pressure of up to 6 bar as well as under vacuum at process temperatures of up to 190 °C. Simple distillation or production under a nitrogen atmosphere is also possible. The plants can process a variety of products. For example, neutralisation and polymerisation of solutions (not solids), such as epichlorohydrin conversions, or solid-liquid separation by centrifuge are possible.

Substitutions with redox reactions and complex reactions can also be implemented.

We have a wide-ranging permit base in accordance with the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and are therefore allowed to process a wide range of chemical substances. Storage and production conditions have been designed to meet the requirements of environmental protection and occupational safety when processing toxic, corrosive, environmentally hazardous or inflammable substances.
We carry out risk assessments and risk evaluations for every product you enquire about. For reaction products in particular, we check the suitability of our systems for your product. Once we have carried out substance-specific hazard assessments, we use our expertise to define the manufacturing conditions. In the GMP production area, we manufacture sophisticated hygiene products under GMP conditions (cosmetic GMP). We can manufacture products for the cosmetics industry, agriculture, food supply chain and all other product groups that have high purity requirements. We are, of course, familiar with the legal requirements for these product groups and apply them consistently.
