Introduction of the new cooling unit
At Ursa-Chemie GmbH, we are continuously pursuing the goal of making our production processes more environmentally friendly and efficient. A major step in this direction is our new cooling unit, which was installed in mid-June. This state-of-the-art unit is used to cool the cooling water in our 200 m³ water storage tank to a temperature of 5 degrees Celsius. The chilled water is essential for our production processes, including supplying the production boilers, ventilation systems and the vacuum mixer dryer.
Increased cooling capacity for increased demand
As the demand for cooling capacity in production processes has increased in recent years, we have decided to increase our cooling capacity. This has been increased from 54 kW to an impressive 97 kW. This means that we are ideally equipped to meet our increasing demand for cooling capacity. With this increase in capacity, we can guarantee the constant supply of our production processes.
Efficient use of solar power
A special highlight is the coupling of the refrigeration unit with our photovoltaic system. This combination allows us to use surplus solar power at weekends and on public holidays to operate the cooling unit. Our control system is programmed to cover various scenarios in order to always save energy and at the same time keep sufficient cooling water in the storage tank. This not only helps to reduce our energy costs, but also makes a significant contribution to CO₂ reduction.
