PROJECT PROCESS

From concept to market-ready solution

Every successful product starts with a clear idea – and a partner who knows how to put it into practice reliably. At URSA Chemie, we guide you step by step through the entire process: from the initial enquiry, through laboratory trials and pilot production, right through to batch or campaign production ready for series manufacturing.

Our structured process ensures maximum transparency, technical reliability and cost-effectiveness. Each stage of the process builds on the previous one, transforming an idea into a market-ready product – reliably, discreetly and tailored precisely to your requirements.

Enquiry

You share your product idea or recipe with us – our team will receive your enquiry and initiate discussions regarding a potential collaboration.

Preliminary assessment

We assess the feasibility, framework conditions and potential of your project. This enables us to establish a solid foundation for the next steps.

Confidentiality Agreement

As soon as your project gets underway, we will ensure that your formulas and data remain strictly confidential by drawing up a bespoke non-disclosure agreement.

Recipe entry

All relevant specifications and requirements are recorded in a structured manner. This ensures that every detail is correctly incorporated into the production process.

laboratory tests

We test and optimise your formulation in our in-house laboratory. In doing so, we establish consistent parameters for future production.

Offer

Based on all the findings, we will draw up a transparent, bespoke quote. Clearly itemised and tailored precisely to your project.

Trial production

During the initial production phase, we test processes and quality under real-world conditions. This ensures your product is ready for mass production.

Your product

Following a successful trial phase, we will commence the planned batch or campaign production – reliably and in accordance with your specifications.

Project-based consultancy from your chemistry expert
– From adapting your formulation to the finished product

Are you considering having your products manufactured by Ursa-Chemie as a full-service partner? We’re delighted to hear it! However, before we begin manufacturing your chemical products, we’ll provide you with comprehensive, personalised advice – because every customer and every product is different.

Once you have submitted your formulation to UCM, it will be examined from various angles. Together, we categorise it as a synthesis, formulation or simple blend product, and according to the type of manufacture. Depending on the ‘product type’, we also consider the regulations that apply to the manufacture of this product. The details of the manufacturing process are then compared with UCM’s technical capabilities. However, there may be occasions when a particular technique is not available. But even that is not a problem: we will work with you to develop alternative production methods and adapt the manufacturing process to your needs and our capabilities. In doing so, we draw on our extensive, cross-sector experience and our in-depth knowledge of processes, without ever disclosing confidential information about other clients. Discretion is our top priority!

In order to provide you with the best possible support, in addition to the prescription and the chemical and technical data, we require the following information, amongst other things:

Our regulatory framework

In our highly regulated world, the manufacture of chemical products is a complex undertaking. In addition to countless general regulations, there are a multitude of laws that apply specifically to companies in the chemical industry. These govern the handling, sale and manufacture of chemicals. Hazardous chemicals, in particular, are subject to a wide range of laws and other regulations designed to protect people and the environment. These range from the European Chemicals Regulation (REACH) and national laws on occupational safety and environmental protection to requirements imposed by local authorities as part of operating licences. Thanks to our numerous licences and our extensive legal expertise, we can assist you to the best of our ability and experience in determining which chemicals can be processed – and which cannot – so that all legal requirements and other measures designed to ensure the health and safety of our employees are always met.

What might that look like in practice?

Scenario 1

Together, we develop a production process that ensures consistent product quality. Your existing manufacturing process serves as the basis for this. With the help of UCM’s expertise, this process is adapted so that we can manufacture your chemical product in our facilities and ensure that all production parameters remain consistent across every batch. In this way, we work together to improve product performance and reduce waste at your site.

Scenario 2

In one of your manufacturing processes, a specific additive needs to be added in small quantities. Until now, this has repeatedly led to variations because dosing such small quantities has proved problematic. UCM came up with the key solution: the substance to be dosed is pre-portioned at UCM according to your requirements. This ensures that you always add exactly the required amount to the manufacturing process. This helps to stabilise the results.
