CHEMISTRY.
As a versatile manufacturer, we produce chemical raw materials, intermediates and finished products for various sectors of industry and commerce (cosmetics, the chemical industry, the electroplating industry). There, they are processed into further chemical products or used as auxiliaries in chemical and physical processes. Some of our products also come into direct contact with the end consumer (e.g. cosmetic products). A common feature of all our products is that, as auxiliary materials in the processing industry, they improve or even enable many processes, or, as cosmetic products, they are of benefit to the end consumer.

The History
of Ursa-Chemie
Since Ursa-Chemie was founded in 1970, we have been using our investments and expertise to create sustainable value for all stakeholders with an interest in or involvement with the company. This philosophy, which encompasses our customers and suppliers as well as our employees and the general public, has shaped the company’s successful development.
Founded inLahnstein
1970: The company was founded by ZSCHIMMER & SCHWARZ of Lahnstein and Ursapharm of Saarbrücken at the Lahnstein site. Production of pharmaceutical raw materials with a staff of three.
1980: Establishment of the contract manufacturing division. Commencement of production of chemical and technical intermediate and finished products, primarily for the electroplating industry.
1985: Strategic focus on contract manufacturing, with the development of new business areas, particularly in the cosmetics industry.
1988: The start of the computer age at Ursa-Chemie, with the development of in-house software for formula data management and production accounting.
Moving to Montabaur
1992: Construction of new premises and relocation to Montabaur at the current site. Expansion of production capacity.
1996: Construction of a facility for the safe processing of epichlorohydrin in a closed system.
1997: Construction of a new warehouse to store finished products.
2002 Further expansion of storage space and construction of a logistics centre at a second site in Montabaur.

2005: Completion of the GMP production facility (cosmetics). A dedicated area for the manufacture of products requiring higher hygiene standards. Installation of a computer-based process control and monitoring system in this area.
2007: Inauguration of the multi-purpose building, housing quality control, process development, the packaging warehouse and small-batch bottling.
2010: Implementation of computer-aided process control and monitoring in chemical production.
CHEMISTRY. EFFICIENT. HOLISTIC.
2021 Further expansion of capacity with systems up to 20,000 litres. Expansion of technical equipment to cover temperature ranges up to 250 °C. Increase in volume in the powder processing sector and increase in overall production capacity.
