In the modern working world, dealing with carcinogenic hazardous substances is a challenge that many companies have to face. In order to present effective and tried-and-tested solutions for occupational safety, the Joint German Occupational Safety Strategy (GDA) organised the event “From practice for practice – best practices for handling carcinogenic hazardous substances”. This was not only represented, but also presented by an expert in the field, Dr Michael Müller, Managing Director of Ursa-Chemie GmbH.
In his presentation, Dr Müller emphasised the importance of a cross-industry exchange of best practice examples. Dealing with carcinogenic hazardous substances requires not only a sound understanding, but also practical approaches that can be easily integrated into everyday working life. Occupational safety measures should not be seen as a hindrance, but as a decisive contribution to prevention.
As part of its work programme “Safe handling of carcinogenic hazardous substances”, the GDA presented not only proven solutions, but also the new GDA Best Practice Database. This database is a valuable tool for documenting successful implementations of occupational health and safety measures and serving as an inspiring role model for other companies. Because good solutions do not necessarily have to be complex or expensive.
The aim of this event was to raise awareness of occupational health and safety when dealing with carcinogenic substances and at the same time to offer concrete assistance in the form of tried and tested solutions. GDA’s free face-to-face events are aimed in particular at interested parties from companies, safety officers, safety engineers and supervisors who want to make their day-to-day work safer.
The message is clear: everyone can become active and help shape occupational health and safety. The event encouraged participants not only to learn from the experiences of others, but also to share their own best practices. Only through a joint, cross-industry exchange can we effectively overcome the challenges of dealing with carcinogenic hazardous substances.
Ursa-Chemie GmbH, represented by Dr Michael Müller, is a pioneer in this field. By actively participating in such events and presenting its own best practices, the company makes a significant contribution to making the world of work safer and healthier.
