Windkraft für Montabaurer Industrie

Wind power for Montabaur industry

Ursa-Chemie secures first funds from the next German government’s new investment pot

Montabaur – A revolution in the energy supply of the ‘Alter Galgen’ industrial estate is imminent: Ursa-Chemie GmbH is the first company to successfully secure funding from the new investment pot of the upcoming German government to build a state-of-the-art wind turbine. This innovative vertical wind turbine will supply the entire industrial estate with clean energy – around the clock.

The planned wind turbine is based on the technology of the ‘Vertical Sky A32’, the largest vertical wind turbine of its kind to date. However, the new model will surpass this by 15 metres and set two new records with an impressive diameter of 40 metres. Thanks to an innovative energy storage system, a constant power supply can be guaranteed even when there is no wind.

Quiet, efficient and environmentally friendly

The vertical design of the wind turbine has decisive advantages over conventional wind turbines: it operates almost silently, requires less space and can utilise wind efficiently from any direction. This technology is a game changer for industrial areas in particular, as it covers the high energy demand without disturbing neighbours with noise or shadows.

Milestone for sustainable industrial policy

The German government is supporting the project as part of a new funding programme for climate-friendly energy generation in industrial conurbations. ‘We are proud to have a pioneer for sustainable industrial centres in Montabaur,’ explained a government spokesperson. Ursa-Chemie plans to put the wind turbine into operation by the end of the year.

With this pioneering investment, Montabaur is showing that a self-sufficient and climate-friendly energy supply is also possible for industrial areas – a model that could also serve as an example for other locations in the future. It remains to be seen whether other companies will follow suit.

A wind turbine that breaks records – and an industry that is focussing on green progress. A truly electrifying 1st April!
