At this year’s Health Day on 28.09.2022, everything revolved around the topic of noise. In addition to three stations on this topic, there was also the opportunity to get a flu shot on site and to participate in a healthy breakfast, which was lovingly prepared by UCM colleagues.
The stations consisted of a noise pyramid, with which it was possible to understand how damage to hearing can be felt. This simulation is intended to illustrate the effects on perception, quality of life and living together with other people. As a member of the BG RCI, such action media can be borrowed and the topics made more accessible to our employees.
Another station was an on-site hearing test to check one’s own hearing.
The last station consisted of a lecture on the subject of noise, prepared by our company doctor and presented by one of her colleagues. The lecture was all about the structure of the ear, limit values, precautions and occupational safety in the company.
Each UCM employee is free to choose which activities and stations he or she participates in. Each station lasts between 10 and 30 minutes and each employee is sent an individual schedule before the day to avoid any waiting time. This day is organized by our safety specialist and the health coordinator in cooperation with the company doctor and supported by BG RCI.
