In our production, different equipment is used for both decanting and filling. These include our three canister filling stations, two of which are explosion-proof and one without.
Mobile canister filling stations enable automatic and calibrated filling of canisters with a volume of 5-60 liters and a filling mass between 5-60kg. They are designed for use in Zone 1 hazardous areas and have an ATEX design II2Gc IIB T 3.
To enable mobile use, a frame construction is used for the filling station and a container roller conveyor as a stowage track with swivel castors and fixed castors. A stepless base height adjustment system allows conversion to canister heights between 100 and 600 mm.
Containers for products that form foams or explosive gases during filling are filled using the so-called below-mirror filling method.
25 kg can be filled in one minute, depending on the liquid properties. The deviation according to the calibration law is 200 g and the tolerance of the canister filling station is 50 g.
Functional description of our canister filling stations
One of our operators places a container on the scale roller conveyor and aligns the container by means of the stop direction. The grounding clamp is then applied and the filling process starts, with the scale taring automatically.
The so-called drip catcher swivels to the rear, the filling nozzle lowers into the container to its underset position and the filling valve opens.
At this point, the filling nozzle remains in its position until it is immersed in the liquid and then automatically moves upwards, piece by piece, to the uppermost filling position. Within this movement, filling takes place with full flow or in fine flow via the scale.
After reaching the set target weight, the filling valve closes and the filling unit moves back upwards to its initial position. The drip trap starts to function. After the tolerance evaluation has been completed, the filling process for the canister is finished.
The filler pushes the filled canister over the canister roller conveyor to the manual mechanical screwing station. At this station, the operator closes the container and pushes the closed container further along the roller conveyor to the acceptance station.
At the same time, refilling of the next container begins.
