Health takes centre stage: How does the Health Day come about?

The health of our employees is a central concern at Ursa-Chemie GmbH. As part of our company health management programme (BGM), we want to ensure that our employees receive the best possible support to lead a healthy and balanced life. We focus on voluntariness and the opportunity to receive suggestions for a healthy life rather than coercion.

Our new health programme for 2024 is the result of dedicated collaboration between all areas of the company. We collected ideas and suggestions from the workforce as part of a health circle. All employees had the opportunity to contribute their suggestions and have their say. It is important to us that health promotion is practised from the bottom up, as this is the only way we can take the needs and wishes of our employees into account in the best possible way.

The health committee, consisting of representatives from the works council, management and a health coordinator, evaluated the ideas collected and developed a comprehensive programme. Instead of a single health day a year, as was previously the case at Ursa-Chemie, we are now launching a year-round health programme.

In the first quarter, we offer our employees various health checks, including blood sugar and blood pressure measurements and a body age check. These measurements serve as a starting point for setting individual health goals and tracking progress over the course of the year.

But that’s not all: throughout the year, our employees have access to a wide range of sports programmes. From individual training sessions to group activities, there is something for everyone. We also offer nutritional counselling and other health services to support our employees on their way to a healthy lifestyle.

At the end of the year, we offer renewed measurements to document progress and celebrate the goals achieved. We are convinced that a healthy and balanced lifestyle not only improves the well-being of our employees, but also contributes to a more productive and harmonious working environment.

With our new health programme, we at Ursa-Chemie not only want to promote the health of our employees, but also raise awareness of the importance of prevention and health promotion. Because only together can we achieve the goal of a healthy and satisfied workforce.
