On Wednesday, 19 June 2024, the Open Air Training Fair took place on the grounds of the Montabaur Vocational School. Even though the weather didn’t play ball and forced us to spontaneously move into the assembly hall, this didn’t dampen the positive mood. Ursa-Chemie GmbH was represented with an informative stand and took the opportunity to present our diverse training opportunities to school students.
Exciting insights and interactive experiences
Despite the change in the weather, we were able to welcome numerous interested young people to our stand. Our pinball machine in particular proved to be a big crowd-puller. This was not only fun, but also provided an informal setting for discussions about the various professions and career paths in the chemical industry.
Chemistry – an indispensable part of everyday life
It is often not easy for chemistry to present itself to the general public as an exciting and important professional field. However, our dedicated team made it impressively clear to the pupils just how omnipresent and indispensable chemistry is in our daily lives. Illustrative examples and interesting explanations made it clear: “You can’t do it without chemistry”.
Positive feedback and motivating discussions
The numerous discussions with the young people were consistently positive and motivating. It became apparent that many young people have a great interest in the natural sciences and in chemistry in particular. Our training programmes met with great interest and we hope to welcome some of the interested students to our team soon.
We were able to familiarise many young people with the importance and exciting opportunities of the chemical industry and make valuable contacts. The trade fair showed once again that there is no substitute for direct dialogue and face-to-face meetings.
We look forward to the next events and to continuing to inspire many young talents for chemistry.
