There are many ways to do good – one of the most direct is donating blood. On 19 May 2025, this idea was put into practice at Ursa-Chemie: The German Red Cross blood donor mobile (BLUMO) stopped off at our premises – right in front of WERK 1. For one day, our car park was transformed into a mobile donation station with a pharmaceutical atmosphere.
31 participants had already registered for the campaign in advance. Despite a slightly delayed start, the DRK team was able to begin donating from 11am. At the end of the day, 26 blood donations were received – a great result that everyone involved can be proud of.
Particularly pleasing: 10 of the donors were donating for the first time. The fact that so many first-time donors decided to take this step is a strong sign of the growing awareness of how important blood donations are for our society. Numerous supporters also came from the Ursa team: 13 employees had the needle inserted themselves to help with their donation.
The DRK team on site ensured that all participants felt well looked after with a great deal of experience, professionalism and a very friendly tone – regardless of whether they were taking part for the first or second time. The pleasant atmosphere and good organisation played a key role in ensuring that the event was perceived as consistently positive.
Ursa-Chemie itself provided the necessary refreshments before and after the donation: There were sandwiches, chocolate energy boosters and a selection of soft drinks. This allowed all donors to relax and socialise in a relaxed atmosphere.
Our conclusion: this first blood drive on our company premises was a complete success. Not only because it potentially saved lives, but also because it brought our Ursa team even closer together. Such joint campaigns show that responsibility and community are not just values on paper at Ursa-Chemie, but are actively practised.
