Several modules covered key safety-related topics – from everyday work situations to emergencies for which we need to be as well prepared as possible. These included:
- Handling acids and alkalis
- Handling toxic substances
- explosion protection
- Handling combustible and flammable substances
- Handling CMR substances
- crane training
- Working with personal protective equipment against falls from a height
- Hazard prevention and damage limitation plan
- Media contingency plan
- Operating instructions for container transport and lorry/tanker loading
- forklift training
For our newer colleagues, the block meant one thing above all else: lots of new content, lots of knowledge and the certainty of being well prepared for everyday work. For long-standing employees, on the other hand, the focus was on regular refresher training – because only what we encounter on a regular basis can we routinely recall in an emergency.
At Ursa-Chemie, continuous training is not just an obligation, but an essential component of our corporate culture. Safety, quality and responsibility are achieved through knowledge – and through repetition.
And, as is our tradition, we not only learned together, but also enjoyed refreshments together: a hearty breakfast ‘à la Ursa’ rounded off the training block and ensured lively conversation, good spirits and a sense of community between the modules.
We would like to thank all participants for their commitment and are starting the new year with a well-trained team!
