Ursa-Chemie took part in the Tappa Run for the second time in 2024 – a virtual hike that led from Los Angeles to New York. After the debut in 2017, the renewed participation was a complete success, both for health management and for team building in our company.
From 11 April to 9 June 2024, 26 dedicated employees embarked on this virtual journey, which lasted 60 days. Together, we covered an impressive 13,321 kilometres, which corresponds to an average of 551 kilometres per person. Particularly noteworthy is the performance of one colleague, who averaged over 21,000 steps per day and thus covered a total of 963.5 kilometres in two months – a really great achievement!
With 35% of the workforce taking part, Ursa-Chemie came 9th out of a total of 33 participating companies. The Tappa Run was more than just a competition; it brought people together. During the breaks, the distances covered were discussed, comparisons were made and people motivated each other to take even more steps. This experience strengthened our team spirit and promoted good health.
A special highlight of the Tappa Run is the accompanying app, which allows participants to enter their steps either manually or automatically. It shows the progress along the route and provides interesting information about the cities you have virtually reached. In addition, other sports units can also be converted into the number of steps, which further increases motivation.
We are proud of our team’s performance and would like to thank everyone who took part. But the Tappa run was just the beginning! On 28 June 2024, five of our sporty employees took part in the B2Run race in Koblenz. We look forward to further joint successes and steps towards health and well-being.
