Heating chambers: Efficient preparation for a smooth production process

Heating chambers: Efficient preparation for a smooth production process

In chemical production, quality begins long before the actual production process. Raw materials are subject to specifications and must meet quality requirements so that they can be processed safely and efficiently. However, in addition to the quality of the raw materials, they must also be moved and transported within the production area. This is precisely why Ursa-Chemie uses heating chambers in some cases.

The right temperature for every raw material

Not every raw material is naturally in a liquid form. Some substances only become fluid when heated in a controlled manner and can then be pumped into our production vats.

Whether a raw material may be heated, and within what temperature range, is determined on a case-by-case basis in advance as part of project and product planning. This is because, depending on the material, heat can have a direct impact on the quality of the end product. For this reason, every temperature control process is carried out in a controlled manner and precisely tailored to the relevant requirements.

Flexible storage for different types of containers

Our heating chambers can accommodate containers of various sizes, including:

  • canister
  • barrels
  • IBC container

Depending on the raw material, the heating chambers are set to different temperatures. This enables us to create optimal conditions for a wide variety of materials and ensure safe and efficient preparation for the subsequent production process.

Our technology ensures everything runs smoothly

We have several heat chambers available at our sites, with varying capacities and heating systems:

  • WERK1: Heating chambers with a total of 30 storage spaces, steam-heated forced-air temperature control up to 80 °C, heating capacity 42 kW, plus 24 additional storage spaces, electrically heated forced-air temperature control up to 80 °C
  • WERK2: 8 storage bays, thermal oil heating, recirculating air temperature up to 90 °C

The various heating systems enable a wide range of raw materials to be heated to the required temperature and offer maximum flexibility for a wide variety of production requirements. The location of the heating chambers is not a decisive factor in the implementation of a project. The two plants are just under 800 metres apart, and a company-owned lorry can easily transport goods between them, ensuring maximum flexibility for product manufacturing.

Safety is our top priority

As well as precise temperature control, safety also plays a key role. For this reason, all heating chambers are marked on the outside with hazard pictograms that provide information about the substances stored inside. In an emergency, this enables emergency services to quickly identify which materials are in each heating chamber and respond accordingly.

For the photographs of the heat chambers, some of these markings were removed or covered up, as they also contain internal information.

A good result starts with thorough preparation

The controlled temperature management of raw materials is an established part of our processes. It helps to ensure a stable production process and, amongst other things, enables products to be manufactured reliably.

With our technical equipment and clearly defined processes, we create the ideal conditions for bespoke client projects – from raw material preparation through to the finished product.
