Everyday working life is often characterised by full calendars, long to-do lists and many recurring routine tasks. These tasks are necessary, but they take up time that could otherwise be spent on creative, strategic and value-adding work.

This is precisely where Ursa-Chemie comes in: by using cognitive artificial intelligence, we are taking another step towards sustainable, modern work processes.

Support instead of replacement

It is important for us to emphasise that
the use of AI at Ursa-Chemie does not mean rationalisation, job cuts or the replacement of people by machines.

Quite the contrary.
Our AI is intended to be a digital colleague – to lighten the load, provide support and secure our future viability.

Together with our employees, we have not only assigned tasks to our new AI, but also given it a name: Ursalina Bär.

And Ursalina has already completed her first successful assignments.

First successes in everyday work

🛒 Purchasing: Automated order confirmations

Ursalina takes on a small but time-consuming task in purchasing:
she automatically and regularly reminds our suppliers when order confirmations are still missing.

➡️ Result:
A reduction of around 30 minutes per week, which can now be used for more important tasks.

📊 Master data maintenance for sustainability reports

As part of statutory sustainability requirements, distances to suppliers and customers had to be determined – a total of 2,800 address records.

Manually, this task would have taken about a month of full-time work.
Ursalina handles this process fully automatically in the background.

Fast, efficient and error-free.

Test phase: AI telephone exchange ‘Ursalina Bär’

Another component is currently in the testing phase:
Ursalina supports us as an AI-powered telephone exchange based on fonio.ai – comparable to an intelligent answering machine.

During the test phase, the following may occur:

  • Calls from Ursalina are answered and forwarded.
  • Summaries of telephone calls are sent by email to internal recipients.

These emails are for information purposes only and will not be actively responded to.

The aim of the test phase is to gain experience with the technology and find out how it can meaningfully complement our everyday work.

Thinking ahead together

Ursalina is still in the early stages – and is expected to continue learning.
